John 4
I wonder how often we catch unbelievers off guard. Do they ever wonder why we move towards them in love and generosity?
Here’s how this goes.
Read the whole chapter.
Underline or write out what verse stands out to you most.
Journal/Think about/Talk about why.
And prayerfully consider how God may be calling you to respond to what you read.
This is how we ponder the Bible.
My responses:
ONE
After reading John 4, I was struck by John 4:7-9 (Tree of Life version).
A Samaritan woman comes to draw water. “Give me a drink,” Yeshua tells her, for His disciples had gone away to the town to buy food.
Then the Samaritan woman tells Him, “How is it that You, a Jew, ask me, a Samaritan woman, for a drink?” (For Jewish people don’t deal with Samaritans.)
TWO
Jesus initiated this interaction. He could have ignored her.
