Today a woman said she didn't know what it meant to be “innocent as to what is evil.” Adam and I were in a Sunday school school class after church. It was the last week of the Romans study we’ve been enjoying for the past month.
I was surprised that others found the same phrase puzzling. Probably because in the translation I had open in my lap, it read, “stay innocent of any wrong,” which I read as something akin to “avoid the appearance of evil1” or “live clean, innocent lives as children of God.2” Basically, we should live in a way that doesn't even give an impression of wrongdoing.
